West Los AngelesWest Los Angeles is a desirable Westside community consisting mainly of apartment renters and some home owners. The many high quality apartment buildings in this neighborhood are rented by a mix of high income, highly educated professionals and students at UCLA, USC, and other area colleges and universities. Single-family homes in West LA are upscale, but more affordable than homes in neighboring Santa Monica and Brentwood. The Wilshire, Sepulveda, and Olympic corridors are thriving business districts. In the last few decades, law offices and entertainment companies have increased their presence in the community. UCLA to the north and Century City to the east enhance the local employment base. Nearby shopping centers include the Westside Pavilion, Century City Shopping Center, and Santa Monica Place. Educational opportunities are offered by UCLA and by Santa Monica College. Excellent medical care can be had at UCLA Medical Center in Westwood, Saint John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, and Century City Hospital to the east. West Los Angeles is a centrally located Westside community, with many attractions in the surrounding communities. The Los Angeles Country Club, the Brentwood Country Club, the Rancho Park Golf Course, and the Hillcrest Country Club are nearby. The Veterans Administration grounds, the Cheviot Hills Park and Recreation Center, and the UCLA campus offer rolling green lawns, trees, and gardens for your enjoyment. Pacific Coast Highway, providing access to sunning and surfing at hundreds of miles of pristine beaches, is only 5 miles away. The downtown business district is freeway close via routes 405 and 10. The Santa Monica Mountains are 15 minutes away to the north, and the water sport opportunities of Marina del Rey are about the same distance to the south. Consequently, West Los Angeles is one of the most desirable neighborhoods for renting or owning a home in Los Angeles.
