Palms
Palms is an affordable, lower middle class, mostly rental housing Westside community. There is a mix of older and newer apartment buildings and some single family housing. It is an ethnically mixed, predominantly bedroom community with good access to freeways 405 and 10. Good neighborhood shopping is available on Sepulveda Blvd and Venice Blvd, with the Westside Pavilion, Culver Center, Ward Plaza, and Fox Hills Mall shopping centers a few minutes away by car.
Palms is a centrally located Westside community just four miles from the beach. Cheviot Hills lies to the north, Culver City to the south, Mar Vista to the southwest, and West Los Angeles to the northwest. Attractions in neighboring communities include the Cheviot Hills Park and Recreation Center, the Hillcrest Country Club, the Penmar Golf Course, and Marina del Rey. Santa Monica Airport for private planes is nearby, and Los Angeles International Airport is a short distance south by freeway. The UCLA campus and Medical Center are an easy commute by car. Brotman Medical Center and Washington Medical Center are situated in the adjacent community of Culver City.
