Pacific PalisadesPacific Palisades is nestled between the cities of Santa Monica and Malibu, and flanked by the lush, green Santa Monica Mountains and the sandy beaches of the blue Pacific – a location that provides an ideal, mild climate cooled by sea breezes. Founded in 1922 as a residential community, Pacific Palisades is one of the most desirable Westside areas in which to own a home. Today, with a population of about 23,000 residents and 630 businesses, including retail shops, restaurants, and professional services, the village atmosphere still exists. Personal concern over the quality of the community remains high, bolstered by support from homeowners associations and numerous philanthropic and community organizations. There is a real hometown atmosphere, and several events each year bring out residents to participate in community activities. Homes in the Palisades are high-end, well landscaped, and often either secluded or with outstanding views. The median household income is about $102,000. Most people who live in the Palisades are upper class and well educated. The Palisades and neighboring communities offer residents their choice of many outstanding public and private schools. The Riviera Country Club is situated in the Palisades, and the Brentwood Country Club is to the east, in the neighboring community of Brentwood. The beauty of the Pacific coast is easily accessible to the south and west. In the northern portion of Pacific Palisades, Will Rogers State Historic Park, Rustic Canyon Park, Topanga State Park, and Santa Ynez County Park provide countless hiking, picnicking, and mountain biking opportunities. Santa Monica to the southeast offers trendy shopping and dining on Montana Avenue, nightlife and shopping along the Third Street Promenade, fishing and weekend dancing on the Santa Monica Pier, and biking and rollerblading along miles of beachfront walkways.
